WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team is in second place after the first day at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being hosted by William & Mary and taking place on the famed par-72 River Course at the Kingsmill Resort. Of note, all six Penn players are in the top 13 of what is a 64-player field.

The Quakers held the team lead after Monday's first round, shooting 1-under-par 287. However, they shot 301 in the afternoon round and Radford moved into the top spot with a second-round 289 that left the Highlanders at 6-over-par 582. Penn is six shots behind at 588, while George Fox (the fourth-ranked team in NCAA Division III) was the only other team in the 10-team field to finish below 600 on Monday, at 594.
Junior
Bridget O'Keefe and senior
Debby Chang—who is playing the tournament as an individual—are tied for fourth in the 64-player field, both carding 145 across Monday's rounds. O'Keefe shot a 1-under-par 71 in the morning and followed up with a 74, while Chang carded an even-par 72 and a 1-over-par 73.
Sophomore
Madeleine Zang went under par in the morning, with a 71, and followed up with a 76 which left her at 3-over-par 147 and had her eighth in the field. Freshman
Claire Lu was right behind her, shooting 75-73—148 to place ninth, while junior
Julie Shin shot a 71 and then an afternoon 78 and is tied for tenth. Sophomore
Maggie Ni went 74-78—152 on the day and is tied for 13th.
Radford's Macy Johnson is the individual leader after Monday's action; she shot 68-70 to finish the day at 6-under-par 138. That has her ahead of a pair of George Fox golfers, Alison Takamiya (141) and Makensie Toole (143).
