Women’s Swimming & Diving Completes First Day of NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The University of Pennsylvania women's swimming and diving team began competition at NCAA Championships on Thursday afternoon, starting with 500-yard freestyle trials at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.

Juniors Anna Moehn and Sydney Bergstrom competed for the Quakers in the 500 free, but both failed to qualify for Thursday night's final session.

Moehn swam a time of 4:41.69 to place 36th (just ahead of Texas' Erin Gemmell), while Bergstrom's 4:47.10 was good enough for 57th.

Moehn will compete next on Friday in the 200-yard freestyle. Trials are set for 1 p.m. ET with finals at 9 p.m. ET. Both sessions will be streamed live on ESPN+.
