PHILADELPHIA – Let the madness begin! The University of Pennsylvania fencing programs send seven fencers to the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships at Penn State from March 20-23.
2024 NCAA Championships Recap
*The women ended the 2024 NCAA Championships with
Sabrina Cho and
Grace Hu landing Honorable Mention All-America off top 12 placements.
*On the men's side,
Bryce Louie edged out his teammate
Blake Broszus in the foil final round to become the 2024 NCAA foil national champion. Louie, Broszus, and
Joseph Wu all earned All-America honors from their top 12 finishes at the championships.

Victoria Kuznetsov,
Bryce Louie, and
Katina Proestakis Ortiz will represent Penn at the championships in Happy Valley.
*The Quakers competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional, where senior Cho and junior Kushkov won gold at their weapons. Freshman Heathcock placed second, sophomore Blum grabbed fifth in saber, while sophomore Kuznetsov landed fourth in epee. Senior Proestakis Ortiz earned sixth in foil to round out the Quakers, who placed in the regional.
*The USFCA announced its All-Mid-Atlantic/South Region Teams earlier this week, with 13 Quakers grabbing the honor. Cho (foil),
Gian Dhingra (saber), Heathcock (saber), Kushkov (saber), and Kuznetsov (epee) led the charge for Penn, earning First Team All-Mid-Atlantic/South Region in their weapons.

Katherine Andres (saber), Blum (saber),
Grace Hu (epee), and Proestakis Ortiz (foil) grabbed Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic/South Region.
Lenna Choi (foil),
Vivian Lu (saber), Wu (epee), and
Nicholas Wu (foil) wrapped up the Quakers who landed spots on the teams with Honorable Mention All-Mid-Atlantic/South Region.
