PHILADELPHIA – The #12 University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team opens the 2025 season on Sunday, taking the quick trip to University City foe Drexel for a noon meeting.

The Penn vs Drexel Series
*Penn dominates the all-time series, leading 16-2.
*The Quakers' only losses to the Dragons came from the 1993 and 2013 campaigns.
*In the last ten contests, Penn has posted a 9-1 record, outscoring the Dragons 116-81.
*During their previous meeting, the Quakers kicked off the 2024 season with an 11-8 win at Franklin Field, with six different players hitting the back of the net in the victory.

*Inside Lacrosse announced its Power 100 Rankings for the Class of 2028, with four Quakers grabbing a spot in the rankings. Goalkeeper Sedransk (13), midfielder Docking (47), defender Goldman (51-100), and midfielder Stanton (51-100) account for Penn's presence in the rankings.
*Head Coach Karin Brower Corbet announced the program's captains for the 2025 season, with seniors

Anna Brandt,
Natasha Gorriaran,
Grace Lillis, and
Gracie Smith serving as the leadership for the year.
*USA Lacrosse announced seniors Brandt and
Erika Chung as Preseason All-Americans. Brandt landed Preseason First Team All-America, while attacker Chung earned Preseason Honorable Mention All-America honors.
*Midfielder Brandt added the Tewaaraton Award watch list to her 2025 preseason resume and Second Team Preseason All-American by Nike Lacrosse Preseason Women's DI Media All-America.
*Penn earned second in the preseason Ivy League after ending the 2024 campaign with a 15-5 record, a 5-2 Ivy League record, and winning four battles against ranked opponents.
Scouting the Dragons
*#24 Drexel already kicked off the 2025 season, bringing a 1-1 record into Sunday's contest.
*In their season opener, the Dragons fell to UConn in double overtime 10-9. Allison Drake and Bridget Finley scored three goals each.
*Drexel won its first game of the year on Wednesday, topping Wagner 16-3, carried by an eight-goal performance in the first quarter.
