STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Penn State National Open on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Quaker Notemeal
Sprints / Hurdles
Jocelyn Niemiec finished first in the women's 500m clocking in at 1:10.87, leading the race start to finish. Niemiec recorded the second fastest time in program history.
Shane Gardner won the men's 60m hurdles recording a time of 7.91 in the prelims and final.
Fore Abinusawa placed third in the 60m dash clocking in a time of 7.39.
Throws
Scott Dochta claimed third in the men's weight throw recording a mark of 19.64m (64' 5.25").
Stella Inman placed ninth in the women's competition throwing a personal-best 18.21m (59' 9").
Angeludi Asaah finished ninth putting 14.01m (45' 11.75") in the women's shot put.
Distance
Nicolas Pizarro recorded a personal-best time of 1:17.66 in the 600m invite finishing second.
Kyle Miller placed seventh at 1:19.10.
Pizarro also ran a personal-best in the 800m finishing ninth at 1:49.85.
Sara Khiri clocked in a personal-best time of 2:55.35 in the 1000m finishing fifth.
George Keen placed ninth in the men's race at 2:28.99.
In the 3000m,
Nora Wollen placed second recording a time of 9:43.83, followed by
Miranda Schriver in sixth at 9:50.69.
Anastasia Russell took eighth in the 5000m with a time of 17:38.03.
Jumps
Conrad Moore and
Mark Hellwig cleared 2.03m (6'8") in the men's high jump finishing third and fourth, respectively.
Paul Park tied for eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.80m (22' 3.75").
