PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League and Philadelphia Big 5 have announced their weekly awards in men's basketball, and University of Pennsylvania freshman center
Dalton Scantlebury swept both Rookie of the Week honors. This marks the second time in three weeks that he has earned both recognitions.
Scantlebury earned the honor after scoring 14 points, grabbing three rebounds, and adding a steal and a blocked shot in Penn's 74-72 win over Lafayette on December 8 at The Palestra. The freshman shot 6-of-9 from the field and hit two of his three foul shots in reaching double figures in the scoring column for the third time this season.
Penn (6-4) is off for fall-term exams right now and returns to action on Saturday at Rutgers. That game will air on the Big Ten Network and tips off at 8 p.m.
