Women’s Basketball Picked Fourth in 2025-26 Ivy League Preseason Poll

PHILADELPHIA – With only 15 days until the 2025-26 season tips off, the University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team was picked fourth in the Ivy League's preseason poll, announced on Thursday morning.

Voted on by members of the media, Penn was predicted to qualify for the Ivy League Tournament for a fourth straight season and make its seventh appearance all-time. The Red and Blue are seeking their seventh Ivy League title and first since 2019.

The Quakers earned 106 voting points to finish behind Princeton (163, 17 first-place votes), Columbia (147, three), and Harvard (126, one). Brown was picked fifth with 84 points, Dartmouth in sixth (46), Cornell seventh (45), and Yale in eighth with 39.

Penn returns the last two Ivy League Rookies of the Year in Mataya Gayle and Katie Collins. Gayle also earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition in 2024-25. First-team All-Ivy selection Stina Almqvist graduated from Penn in May.

The season begins on November 7, as Penn hosts King's College at The Palestra. The doubleheader with the men tips off at 4 p.m.
