SPARKS, Md. – USA Lacrosse announced its Division I Women's Preseason All-Americans on Wednesday morning, with seniors
Anna Brandt and
Erika Chung of the University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team earning the accolade.
Midfielder Brandt was named Preseason First Team All-American, while attacker Chung grabbed Preseason Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Brandt led Penn and was sixth among Ivy League players with 60 goals, finishing 2024 second on the program's single-season list. A unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection last year, Brandt also earned All-Tournament at the Ivy League Tournament after she set ILT records for goals in a game (8 in Penn's semifinal win over Princeton) and a tournament (12). Brandt comes into her senior year campaign third on the program's all-time list for goals, with 138—she needs just 11 to break Ali DeLuca's standard—and is 15th in career points (144). The Maryland native landed Third Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse and IWLCA and Honorable Mention All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine to end last season.
Chung led the Quakers with 52 assists and was second on the team with 64 points to end the 2024 season. The Honorable Mention All-Ivy honoree set a program record for assists in a game when she dished out eight against Brown on April 20, and she also had five-assist performances last year against Ivy regular-season champion Yale and Columbia. Chung heads into her senior year fourth on the program's all-time assist chart with 93. In the 2024 regular-season finale at Dartmouth, she dished out an assist and became the 28th player in program history to record 100 career points.
Brandt, Chung, and the rest of the Red and Blue open the 2025 season on Sunday, Feb. 16, against University City foe Drexel at noon.
