PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's Albert G. Molloy Head Coach of Men's Tennis, Rich Bonfiglio, has announced the addition of Jeremie Casabon as an assistant coach.
A 2024 Vanderbilt University graduate and a Flourtown, Pa. native, Casabon served as the Commodores' captain last season and was ranked in the top 100 on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) national rankings on both the singles and doubles side.
"We could not be more excited to have Jeremie on board," said Bonfiglio, who is in the midst of his second full season at the helm at Penn. "Jeremie is a Philly guy and embraces a blue-collar and hard-working mentality that we try to preach in our program. Coming from the SEC and Vanderbilt, and being a four-year starter in singles and doubles as well as captain his senior year, he knows what it takes to be successful on the court. I think he will be a huge asset for us as a coaching staff."
A two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection, Casabon accumulated a 62-50 singles record and a 52-36 doubles record across four seasons in the Music City. On the doubles side, he took home the 2023 ITA Ohio Valley Regional Title with a career-high ITA National ranking of No. 13.
In his senior season, Casabon was named team captain. He went a career-best 22-11 in singles and helped lead his team to an NCAA Championship berth for the first time since 2019.
"I am super excited to join the University of Pennsylvania's Men's Tennis team," said Casabon. "Thank you to Coach Bonfiglio, Coach Gilmore and Penn Athletics for this opportunity. I can't wait to see what we can do this spring. Go Quakers!"
Casabon graduated from Vanderbilt in 2024 with a degree in Human and Organizational Development.
