BERLIN, Md. - The University of Pennsylvania men's golf team is in first place out of 18 teams after the first of two days at The Battle at Rum Pointe. The 36-hole event is being hosted by Iona College on the par-72 Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links.
Penn shot 10-over-par 298 as a team on Friday which has the Quakers three shots ahead of La Salle (301, +13) and six ahead of third-place Mount St. Mary's (304, +6).

Freshman
Max Fonseca is in second place on the individual leaderboard after finishing as one of just two players to go under par. His 1-under-par 71 left him two shots behind only La Salle's Ben Battye (69, -3).
Jimin Jung is fourth in the field of 98 golfers after shooting a 1-over-par 73 on Friday, while
George Roessler carded a 4-over-par 76 and is tied for 14th.
Ben Scott (79, +7) was Penn's other scorer on the day, while
Hayden Adams (81, +9) rounded out the lineup.
