VILLANOVA, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania women's swimming and diving team tallied 11 first place finishes in 16 events to top Villanova, 167-128, Wednesday evening at the Villanova Swim Complex.
The Quakers (3-0, 0-0 Ivy) remain unblemished on the year following three consecutive victories in five days. The Wildcats (2-1, 2-0 BIG EAST) drop their first meet of the season after back-to-back wins over UConn and Georgetown to begin the year.
Penn was led by
Katya Eruslanova and
Kayla Fu, who each reeled in two individual wins during the meet.
Quaker Notemeal
*It's the fourth consecutive year Penn has beaten Villanova. In 2023, the Quakers earned a 171.5-120.5 win over the Wildcats. In 2022, Penn picked up a 186-112 win and won 169-120 in 2021.
*Penn began the night with a victory in the 200-medley relay as
Kate Levensten,
Amy Qin,
Maggie Hu, and
Kayla Fu swam a 1:43.98.

Anna Boeckman secured victory in the 1,000 freestyle (10:18.79) for the second consecutive meet after taking first on Saturday at Richmond.
*Eruslanova won her first race in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.83.
Anna Moehn finished third at 1:53.66. Eruslanova also won the 200 backstroke at 2:01.96 with
Erica Maltsev clocking a 2:03.33 to finish second and
Charlotte Holliday (2:06.81) in third.

Amy Qin took first in the 100 backstroke with a time 55.39,
Kate Levensten placing second at 55.74.

Kayla Fu won the first of her two races in the 50 free with a fast time of 23.27. She also took first in the 100 free at 50.31 with Qin taking second at 52.22.

Meredith Holcomb swam a 2:19.50 to place first in the 200 breaststroke, while
Abby Druhan finished second (2:21.23).
*Moehn again picked up a 'W' in the 500 free with a time of 5:00.60.

Joy Jiang recorded a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:03.88), while
Kate Handley made her Penn debut by finishing third in the 100 breast (1:05.62).
Maggie Hu's time of 56.43 was good enough for second place in the 100 fly, while Levensten placed third at 56.74.
*On the boards,
Rachel Yang scored the first victory of her collegiate career in the one-meter with a score of 284.03.
Sadie Howard took second (265.43), while
Sophie Slayden finished third (238.95).
*Howard was victorious in the three-meter dive with a score of 264.98.
