PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania swimming and diving programs continue Ivy League action Friday at Providence in a dual meet with Brown which includes Bryant. The meet begins at 4 p.m. while the women look to improve to 4-0 and the men turn their focus on getting their first win.
Quaker Notemeal
*For the men,
James Curreri won two events, swimming a 49.84 to claim victory in the 100 backstroke before taking first in the 200 back with a time of 1:48.35.
Daniel Gallagher swam a 1:51.02 to finish third in the event.
*The two-time Ivy League champion in the event, senior
Matt Fallon began his pursuit for a third title with a win in the 200 breaststroke, swimming a 1:58.29 to beat out teammate
Peter Whittington (2:01.92). Fallon also secured a third-place finish in the 1000 free (9:33.96).
*Whittington swam a time of 1:51.93 to place first in the 200 IM. Fallon went on to finish third (1:53.97).

Cody Hopkins started the meet with a win in the three-meter dive, scoring a 313.87 to take first place. He took third with a score of 293.40.
*Freshman
Jeffrey Hou narrowly fell in the 100 butterfly, swimming just five-tenths slower than Columbia's Dongjun Lee with a time of 48.87 to place second.
*On the women's side, Penn secured a win against Columbia last Friday and aim to stay undefeated. The Quakers started their Ivy season 1-0 after winning nine out of 16 events in the pool.

Kayla Fu picked up her first win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.44, beating out teammate
Kate Levensten (56.22). She also picked up a win in the 100 butterfly (54.45), while
Maggie Hu took second (55.92).

Katya Eruslanova swam a 2:00.84 to finish the 200 back in first, while Levensten placed third at 2:02.78. Eruslanova also emerged victorious in the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.84.

Joy Jiang won the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.50.

Meredith Holcomb won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:19.85 and
Abby Druhan came in second (2:20.67).

Anna Moehn continued her hot start to the year in the 500 freestyle with a first-place time of 4:57.03.
*The 200-medley relay team of Levensten,
Amy Qin,
Maggie Hu, and Fu took first place with a time of 1:42.86.
*On the boards,
Rachel Yang won her first Ivy event in the one-meter dive with a top score of 277.80. She also placed second in the three-meter dive, scoring a 294.83.
Sadie Howard took third place (254.40).
Scouting The Bears
*The Brown men opened their season with a 1-2 record in conference competition and earned a sole win against Dartmouth.
*They picked up a 182-118 win against the Big Green after Max Moore placed second in the 200 breaststroke, Matt Williamson settled for second in the 500 freestyle and Christopher Zhang took second for the 100 butterfly.
*In addition, Rowland Lawver's third-place finish on the one-meter dive was the best finish for the Bears on the boards.
*Similarly, the Brown women have opened their season with 1-3 record in Ivy action also proving to be victorious against Dartmouth.
*They polished off a 234-66 win against the Big Green after Gillian Tu won in the 100 breaststroke, Zehra Bilgin won the 200 butterfly, and Dana Li won in the 500 freestyle.
*Bowie Krawczyk finished fourth on the diving boards in the three-meter event.
Scouting The Bulldogs
*The Bryant men rose to 3-1 this season, the only loss coming against Binghamton.
*In their most recent contest against Holy Cross and Providence, Leo Luna cruised in the 800 and 400-yard freestyle events, obtaining first. The team also held key wins in the 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, while James Misto, Conner Lofstrom, and Nick Andrews went 1-2-3 in the 50-yard freestyle.
*Christopher Buonocore won the one-meter and three-meter dives and earned last month's America East Male Diver of The Week honor.
*Likewise, the Bryant women also come into this 3-1 this season with the lone loss coming against Binghamton.
*In the matchup against Holy Cross and Providence, Makayla Pearce collected wins in 800-yard freestyle and the 400 freestyle. The team also earned wins in 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 50 free.
*Megan Beasley continued her win streak, placing first in the one-meter and three-meter dives. She was named America East Female Diver of the Week for the third time this season.
*In addition, Ruby Tonelli has dominated competition in the water, collecting America East Rookie of the Week after winning the 200 IM, 200 butterfly, and 200-yard backstroke, her second honor of the year.
