Cross Country Travels to Lehigh for Paul Short Run

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's cross country squads travel to Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday to compete at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh. The men's open is schedule to start at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women's open at 10:15 a.m. The college men's gold race will kick off at 11:00 a.m., followed by the college women's gold race at 11:45 a.m.  Live Results 

Last Time Out
The Quakers scored 46 points in the men's four-mile race with the team's top five athletes scoring in the top-15. Junior Liam Goingset the pace for the team with a time of 20:18.3 Going scored fifth, followed by Shane Murphy in seventh (20:28.3) and Esfan Daya in ninth (20:33.3). Diego Mendez Colon (11) and Vidhur Polam (14) rounded out the team score. 

In the women's 5k race, Chloe Hassman crossed the finish line first for the Quakers scoring seventh with a time of 18:32.9. 

Results from Penn State 
The cross country teams traveled to Penn State on Sept. 13 to compete at the Spiked Shoe Invitational. Luke Johnson and Sahil Dodda placed ninth and 10th in the men's 5.2m race clocking in at 25:07.7 and 25:08.1, respectively.

Penn women started the day competing in the 6k race, finishing sixth with a team score of 165 points. Sophomore Anna Weirich led the women's team finishing 25th with a time of 21:03.6.

Season Opener
Penn kicked off the 2024 season last Friday at the New Jersey Jam in Princeton, N.J. 

In the men's 5.6k race, sophomore Liam Going led the team scoring 12th with a time of 17:14.4. Sebastian Pizarro (22), Vidhur Polam (27), and Diego Mendez Colon (29) scored in the top 30, and freshman Brady Golomb claimed 32nd to complete the men's scoring.
