PHILADELPHIA – After a big road win at Cornell over the weekend, seniors
Cam Janock and
Adrian Montemayor of the University of Pennsylvania sprint football team earned CSFL weekly awards announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Linebacker Janock earned Defensive Player of the Week, while kicked Monetmayor landed his second Special Team Player of the Week award of the season following Penn's 41-0 shutout at Cornell this past Saturday.
Janock had a season-high outing against the Big Red, tallying a team-high nine stops, including two for a loss of 12 yards to lead the defense. The senior also sacked Cornell's quarterback for a loss of nine yards and recorded a forced fumble in the road win.
Montemayor continued his hot start to the season in Ithaca, making five extra-point kicks in the game. The reigning CSFL Special Teams Player of the Year also averaged 36 yards per punt and 54 yards per kickoff against the Big Red.
Janock, Montemayor, and the rest of the Quakers return to Franklin Field on Friday, hosting Molloy for a 7 p.m. matchup.
