PHILADELPHIA – Following two strong performances last weekend—including a come-from-behind Ivy-opening win over Yale Friday—the University of Pennsylvania field hockey team heads back on the road to face its next Ivy competitor, taking on Columbia Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. in New York City.
The Quakers are playing just their second road game of the season on Friday following a 3-1 defeat at No. 3 Northwestern two Sundays ago. The Lions are still in search of their first conference win after falling at Princeton last Friday, 2-1, and against Cornell, 3-1, on Sept. 15.

SERIES AGAINST THE LIONS
In a matchup that dates back to 1996, Penn leads the all-time series, 14-12, which includes the previous two meetings. In the last five games in New York, Columbia has won four of them.

Last time out against Columbia, the Quakers took a 7-2 victory at Ellen Vagelos Field, earning head coach
Colleen Fink's 100th victory as Penn head coach.

PENN'S LAST TIME OUT
The Quakers showed tremendous resiliency and fight in both of their games over the weekend at Ellen Vagelos Field. On Sunday, Penn came from behind three different times against No. 13 Saint Joseph's but fell to the Hawks in double overtime, 4-3.

Courtney Kenah and
Philine Klas were the Quaker goal scorers, while senior keeper
Frederique Wollaert matched her season high with 11 saves, which earned her Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors.
On Friday, the Quakers were down 2-0 to Yale midway through the third quarter but scored the last three goals for a 3-2 victory in their Ivy League opener. Kuzyk scored the first and third goals for the Red and Blue, sandwiching them around a tally from fellow co-captain
Lis Zandbergen.
STAT LEADERS
Kuzyk leads the Quakers in goals with six through the team's first eight games of the season. She also paces the squad in points (12), shots (29) and shots on goal (15). Kenah has been efficient on getting the ball out to her teammates with a team-high five assists so far. Kuzyk's six goals are good for second in the Ivy League, while Kenah's five helpers are currently slotted in third.
