PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania enjoyed a successful start to its 2023-24 campaign, sweeping three matches across the weekend to finish undefeated at the Penn Invitational that the Quakers hosted at the Hamlin Tennis Center. The tournament was played in a hidden duals format and featured eight teams.
 
Penn began the weekend with a 5-2 win over Delaware on Friday, advanced to the final with a 6-1 win over local foe Temple on Saturday, and then claimed the team title with another 5-2 win on Sunday, this time over Ivy League foe Yale.
 
Sophomore Manfredi Graziani and freshmen Aaron Sandler and Parashar Bharadwaj all went undefeated across their singles matches, each of them going 3-0 on the weekend. Sandler also was 3-0 in doubles play, winning with teammate Kian Vakili against Delaware and Yale and with Bharadwaj Saturday against Temple. Another freshman, Luka Butera, went 2-1 with the wins coming against the Owls and Bulldogs.

Penn is back in action next weekend, traveling to Charlottesville to play in the University of Virginia Invitational.
