DURHAM, N.C. – The University of Pennsylvania track and field teams headed south for the weekend to the Duke Invitational in Durham, and although the weather wasn't top notch, the Quakers secured a pair of victories in the women's 100m and the men's 4x100m relay.
Â
At the women's 100m, the Quakers had three runners finish in the top eight headlined by freshman
Moforehan Abinusawa with a top time of 11.64. She was followed in by
Christiana Nwachuku in third (11.96) and
Daniella Oyenuga in eighth (12.24), both of whom are freshmen as well.
Â
The men's win came in the 4x100m relay, as the Quakers put together a time of 40.62 that places them sixth in program history.
Â
The Quakers will continue the outdoor season next weekend at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton on Friday and Saturday, before traveling up to Cornell on Sunday for a clash with Oxford and Cambridge.
