Anderson Named Ivy League Coach of the Year

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League has announced its 2022-23 award winners for women's golf, and for the first time the University of Pennsylvania was honored as head coach Mark Anderson was named the Ivy League Coach of the Year

Anderson was voted by his peers as Ivy League Coach of the Year after leading the Quakers to a win at the Ivy League Championship last weekend. The Quakers led wire-to-wire over the three-day, 54-hole event and defeated second-place Harvard by four strokes. It was the program's second Ivy title, the other coming in 2010. All five Penn players earned All-Ivy, another first in program history, as freshman Bridget O'Keefe earned first-team honors by finishing third at the Championship while Natalie Cao, Selina Li, Julie Shin and Susan Xiao all earned second-team recognition by finishing in the 6-10 spots.

Penn's season will continue at the NCAA's Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Regional from May 8-10. The Quakers are the 11th seed in the 12-team field and will play to be one of five teams that advance to the NCAA Championship from May 19-24 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

In the other awards announced by the Ivy League, Princeton's Victoria Liu was named the Ivy League Player of the Year while Tigers freshman Catherine Rao was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year. Liu will join Penn in Palm Beach Gardens, as she was named to the field as an individual.
