UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team opened the 2025-26 season by finishing sixth out of 16 teams at the Nittany Lion Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event was hosted by Penn State and took place on PSU's par-72 Blue Course.

Penn shot 305-290-300 for the weekend to finish at 31-over-par 895 as a team. The Nittany Lions were team champion, the hosts shooting 14-over-par 878 to beat Delaware by a stroke and the other Ivy League team in the field, Yale, by two.
Individually, the Quakers were led by the two freshmen playing their first collegiate tournaments.
Mi Li matched par twice and sandwiched them around a 1-under-par second round to finish the weekend at 1-under-par 215. That left her tied for fourth in a field of 89 golfers. Li tied for fourth in the field in par-4 scoring (-1) and tied for sixth with nine birdies.
The other first-year,
Adrienne Ahn-Upton, recovered from a first-round 79 to shoot a 71 and 72 in her last two rounds to finish the weekend at 9-over-par 225, good for t-30th. The freshman was steady, finishing fifth in the field with 40 pars.
Seniors
Bridget O'Keefe and
Julie Shin both carded 230 on the weekend, O'Keefe shooting even par in the second round and Shin finishing the event tied for sixth in the field in par-5 scoring (-2) and t-10th with eight birdies.
Claire Lu scored in two of the rounds for Penn and shot 234 for the tournament, while
Lindsay Yao—in the field as an individual—had Penn's third-best round on Monday as part of a three-round score of 241.
Yale's Mia Sessa was the individual medalist, as she carded a 5-under-par 211 which left her two strokes ahead of Maryland's Surapa Janthamunee and three ahead of Duquesne's Sasha Petrochko.
