PHILADELPHIA – After a 2-0 week and claiming the 14th conference title in program history, the No. 14 University of Pennsylvania raked in some awards on Monday, sweeping the Ivy League weekly honors.
Â
For the first time in her career, senior
Niki Miles was awarded Offensive Player of the Week, while senior
Izzy Rohr was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Â
Miles was the offensive catalyst, totaling 13 points in a 2-0 week against #24 Princeton and Brown. She had a tied game-high four points in the sealing game against the Tigers on Wednesday with three goals and an assist, while leading the day with six draws. She went off for a career-high nine points at the Bears on Saturday scoring seven goals and two assists while leading the team with seven draws, a career high for the senior.
Â
She is up to a league-leading 46 goals and 11 assists for a league-leading 57 points, moving her quickly up the single season record book. She currently ranks 14th in points and sixth in goals for a single season in program history. The program record in goals is 58, set in 1981 by Julie Heller and tied again in 2015 by Tory Bensen. Additionally, she is currently riding a 15-game scoring streak while remaining the only Quaker to score in all 14 contests this season.
Â
Like Miles, Rohr was a key cog in a stout defense last week, totaling four caused turnovers and five ground balls. Against the Tigers, she had a game-high three caused turnovers and game-high four ground balls. Against the Bears, she was a part of a backline that held Brown scoreless for a stretch of 37 minutes.
Â
The three-time Ivy Defensive Player of the Week remains the league leader in caused turnovers (21) while ranking fifth in ground balls (30).
Â
The Quakers wrap up the regular season on Saturday, hosting Dartmouth in Penn Park. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
