PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team sent the 2023 senior class off with a bang, downing Dartmouth 7-0 on Senior Day Sunday.
Manfredi Graziani and
Aditya Gupta took the first doubles match of the day at No. 3, 6-3, and
Edoardo Graziani and
Kevin Zhu took the tiebreak in their match at No. 1 for the early point.
Gupta added a singles win at No. 2, 6-1, 6-3 and
Baylor Sai added a 6-3, 6-3 win shortly thereafter, putting Penn up 3-0.
Parikh clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 and Lim made it 5-0 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 6.
The Graziani brothers closed the day with two more straight-set wins, Manfredi winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 and Edoardo completing the sweep with a 7-6, 7-6 (5) win at No. 1.
Before the match, the team's class of 2023: (Edoardo) Graziani, Gupta, Parikh, Zhu, and
Zach Smith were honored for their contribution to the program, which include the team's first-ever NCAA Championships appearance last Spring and a 28-4 record at home the last four seasons.
Sunday wrapped the 2022-23 regular season. The Quakers will now await their NCAA Championships fate.
