Gymnastics Closes Weekend in College Park for #25 Maryland's Terp Quad

PHILADELPHIA — Looking to take advantage of a short turnaround, the University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team gets right back to work at Sunday's Terp Quad in College Park, Md. against host #25 Maryland, Brown and New Hampshire, beginning at 1 p.m.
 
The Quakers fell to UNH on Thursday in the final meet at The Palestra for the 2023 season, registering a team score of 194.350 in the loss.

*Penn is searching for its first overall meet victory in exactly a month, the last coming in a dual against Cornell on Feb. 5, in which the Quakers scored a 195.250 to beat the Big Red.
 
*The Quakers have finished second in their last two meets, doing so in the Ivy Classic quad meet last weekend at Brown and against UNH on Thursday. Two weekends ago, Penn was fourth of four teams at Temple.
 
*Kiersten Belkoff finished Thursday's meet with the Wildcats with a first-place finish on vault with her 9.875, the second-best mark in program history for the event.
 
*Kristen Kuhn took the bars title with a 9.875 while her and Belkoff tied for second on beam (9.825).
 
*Emma Davies claimed the floor title with a 9.825.
 
*On vault, Penn scored a 48.925 as a team, the fourth-best score in program history.
 
*Penn enters Sunday's meet ranked #48 by Road To Nationals, while Maryland is #25, UNH #51 and Brown #60.
 
*The Terrapins have put up big numbers this season, most recently scoring a 196.600 at Temple on Thursday against the Owls, Towson and West Chester. Maryland is the seventh-ranked team in the B1G in terms of NQS with a 196.395.
 
*New Hampshire's 194.850 against the Quakers on Thursday was its lowest in nearly a month after putting up scores north of 195 in its last three meets.
 
*Brown is competing for the first time this week since winning the Ivy Classic last weekend in Providence. The Bears scored a 195.200 to beat Penn for the title. Julia Bedell will be one to watch for Brown, claiming the Ivy Classic titles on both vault and floor.
