PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team rallied from a pair of early deficits for a 4-2 win Sunday over Penn State.
Penn State took the doubles point to begin the day, with wins at No. 2 and 3. The No. 1 match featuring
Edoardo Graziani and
Kevin Zhu was halted with Graziani and Zhu leading 6-5.
Aditya Gupta opened singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 to even the match at one. After Penn State went back in front 2-1 with a win at No. 4, it was Graziani and Zhu who went to work at No. 1 and 2, picking up two more straight-set wins, putting Penn up 3-2.
After taking the first set of his match at No. 6,
Baylor Sai clinched his match (and the win for the Quakers) in style, bageling his opponent in the second set.
In the only unfinished singles match,
Manfredi Graziani was up one set and leading 4-1 in the second at No. 5
