HANOVER, N.H. – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team went unbeaten in singles action on their way to a 4-1 win over Yale in the quarterfinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Championship Friday afternoon.
Yale took two of three doubles matches to earn the opening point, with
Edoardo Graziani and
Kevin Zhu, the #2 doubles team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, picking up a 6-3 win at No. 1.
Penn did not trail for long as Zhu took the day's first singles match in straight sets.
Manfredi Graziani and
Aditya Gupta followed with straight-set wins of their own, putting Penn on the cusp of the win.
The match-clinching point came from
Harsh Parikh, who rebounded in resounding fashion after dropping the first set, taking sets two and three by identical 6-1 scores. (Edoardo) Graziani and
Baylor Sai had their singles matches halted upon Parikh's victory.
Up Next
The Quakers will face the winner of Dartmouth and Columbia in the semifinals tomorrow.
