CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior
Olivia Morganti of the University of Pennsylvania women's cross country team made the trip back down to Wine Country this weekend to compete in her first NCAA Cross Country Championship, taking 144th with a time of 20:58.3.
Â
The Syracuse, New York native ran in a massive pack in the middle of the field for much of the race, pacing at a consistent mid-3-minute 1K time throughout. She ran against 254 competitors, hitting as high as 79th in the event.
Â
Morganti concludes her senior cross country season earning All-Region and first-team All-Ivy, setting up for a hopeful indoor and outdoor track campaign. Last year, she was named second-team All-America in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Â
The indoor track and field season is slated to begin on December 8, traveling to the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island for the Seahawk Invitational.
