PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team will send four singles players and three doubles teams to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Super Regional at Princeton in two weeks.
 
Three players—senior Sameer Gangoli, sophomore Kian Vakili, and freshman Parashar Bharadwaj—gained entry by making the final eight in singles at the ITA Northeast (1) Regional hosted over the weekend by the Quakers at the Hamlin and Hecht Tennis Centers, while the duos of Gangoli/Bharadwaj and Vakili/Aaron Sandler were two of the final four standing in the doubles bracket.
 
Sophomore Manfredi Graziani had already earned a berth to Supers in singles due to his regional ranking prior to this weekend, while Graziani and Zachery Lim were already in the doubles bracket at Supers due to their regional ranking. The Northeast Super Regional will run October 20-23.
 
Penn had seven players in the singles bracket and three teams in the doubles bracket over the weekend. Six of the Quakers players advanced all the way to the Round of 32 in singles, winning three and losing three at that juncture. While Vakili's advancement was perhaps expected—he was a top eight seed on the weekend—the same could not be said for Bharadwaj (9-16 seed) and especially Gangoli (17-24 seed).
 
In doubles, the duo of Tal Goodman and Baylor Sai lost in the Round of 32, but the other duos held their top four seeds in advancing to Supers.
