The Cornell Series
The Quakers lead the series, 29-14-2, and have won their last eight meetings. Their last win was a 2-0 victory at Cornell last season. Penn rocks a 13-9-1 tally while playing in Ithaca, including victories in the last three meetings up there.

Last Time We Met
The 2022 matchup started slow but in the third quarter, Penn was awarded a penalty stroke where Gracyn Banks made it a 1-0 game. With 10 minutes left in the contest, the Quakers ensured the win with a goal from Meghan Ward off a pass by Sophie Freedman, giving the Red and Blue a 2-0 victory.

Continuing Ivy League Dominance
The Quakers played three games last week, including two against Ivy League rivals. On Wednesday, Penn played Princeton on the road in an absolute battle that went into double overtime. The Tigers were one of the two unbeaten Ivy League teams at 3-0, along with Harvard and the Quakers, until the Red and Blue showed up. To put the Quakers up early, freshman Emily Stafford struck her third goal of the season. Senior Allison Kuzyk scored a quick goal to give the Quakers a 2-0 lead at the start of the third.

However, Princeton fought back with two quick consecutive goals in a five-minute span to tie up the game. After many close last-second shots in the fourth by the Quakers, the game went into overtime. The decider was sent in by Freedman, firing a shot from the top of the circle, her first goal of the year, to defeat the Tigers 3-2 for the first time since 2004 and the second time since 1992.

Back home on Saturday, the Quakers cruised past Dartmouth, winning 4-1 with goals from Kuzyk, sophomore Livia Loozen, senior co-captain Lis Zandbergen, and sophomore Dylan Breier. The victory for the Red and Blue keeps their league tally unblemished at 4-0, tied at the top with Harvard.

Wrapping up a three-game stretch in five days, the Quakers were down 3-0 late in the fourth to Villanova but managed to score two quick goals in a two-minute span from freshman Honor Roberts, both the first of her collegiate career, but ultimately fell short.

Brick Wollaert
Senior goalkeeper Frederique Wollaert shined this past week, helping Penn go 2-1, including two conference victories. Wollaert stopped multiple shots during the three-game span, including seven against Princeton, ultimately adding 17 saves on the week, bringing her season total to 69 with a .742 save percentage, ranking her third in the Ivy League. Her efforts earned her Ivy Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season and in her career.

Stat Leaders
Kuzyk leads the Quakers in goals with nine through 12 games. She also leads the team in points (19), shots (47) and shots on goal (30). Junior Courtney Kenah has been efficient on getting the ball out to her teammates with a team-high seven assists so far. Kuzyk's goals are good for second in the Ivy League, while Kenah's seven helpers are currently in the third spot among all players.
