Wrestling Rankings for Week of January 2

PHILADELPHIA – Nine wrestlers from the 19th-ranked University of Pennsylvania wrestling team have earned national recognition to open the 2023 portion of the season. The Quakers are represented in nine weight classes as the team prepares to open 2023 with a pair of events this weekend. As a team, the Red and Blue received national rankings from Wrestling Insider Newsmag (#19), Flo-wrestling (#20), Wrestlestat (#25), and Intermat (#27).
 
Individual rankings are new from Amateur Wrestling News, Flo-wrestling, Intermat, Wrestlestat, The Open Mat, and Wrestling Insider Newsmag.  

Seniors Anthony Artalona (157), Carmen Ferrante (141), Ben Goldin (285),  and Doug Zapf (149), juniors Michael Colaiocco (133), Lucas Revano (165), and Cole Urbas (197), and sophomores Ryan Miller (125) and Nick Incontrera (174) are all ranked in the most recent collegiate wrestling rankings.  

Colaiocco is the lone Penn grappler with single-digit rankings. The junior is ranked #8 by Wrestlestat and #9 by Amateur Wrestling News, Intermat, and The Open Mat. Joining Colaiocco with top 10 rankings is Zapf, who is ranked #10 by Amateur Wrestling News, Flo-wrestling, Intermat, and The Open Mat. Revano reentered the rankings, earning #29 ranking by Wrestlestat and honorable mention by Flo-wrestling.

The Red and Blue will open the new year on Friday, January 6 at the F&M Open and host North Carolina (1/8) at The Palestra. Buy tickets here for the UNC dual.
 
Tickets are now on sale for the 119th EIWA Championships. This year's championships will be held at The Palestra on March 4 and 5. All Session tickets, as well as individual sessions are on sale now and can be purchased here
