The Series with Harvard
Friday's matchup is the 44th time in program history the Quakers and Crimson are clashing on the turf, with Harvard holding a 25-16-2 lead in the series. The series is much closer when playing in Philadelphia, as Penn is narrowly edged by the Crimson, 10-9-1. The Quakers have won two of the last four matchups in Philadelphia, but Harvard earned the last one in 2018, 2-1, at Ellen Vagelos Field.

About The Crimson
Harvard, fresh off a trip to the national semifinals in 2021, has opened the 2022 campaign with a 6-2 record and 1-0 in Ivy play. They have collected nationally ranked victories over No. 24 Miami (Ohio) (1-0 OT), and No. 23 American (3-2), while narrowly losing to No. 15 UConn (2-0) and No. 3 Maryland (2-1). In league play, the Crimson earned a convincing 3-1 win over Columbia last Friday. Through eight games, their offense is led by Bronte-May Brough and Emily Guckian, combining for 13 points. Brough has three goals with two game-winners, while Guckian leads the team in assists with four. Ellie Shahbo has started in the cage every game, holding a 0.74 goals-against average, the best mark in all of Division I.

The Series with LIU
The Quakers are meeting the Sharks for the first time in program history on Sunday.

About The Sharks
LIU enters a two-game weekend against Stonehill and the Quakers with a 3-6 record, earning wins over La Salle (3-1), Quinnipiac (3-2) and Georgetown (2-1). They are coming off a close road loss on Sunday, falling to Lehigh, 1-0. The Sharks have seen scoring from five different players led by Jules Kuzmich with three goals. Meilin Liotard paces the offense with seven points off two goals and three assists. Back in the cage, Maggie Streichert has played every minute this season with a 2.40 GAA and 56 saves.

Believe in Brynn
Sunday's game against LIU is the team's Believe in Brynn game, as the Quakers continue to raise awareness for Rett syndrome. Beyond wearing purple, the color of Rett support, the team rallies around the young fighter, Brynn Connor, in her battle with Rett. Rett is a developmental disorder that affects the way the brain matures, causing a progressive inability to use muscles for eye and body movements and speech. Penn's Last Time Out
The Quakers, who bolster the toughest schedule in Division I, earned their first win of the season on Sunday, defeating No. 24 Temple on the road, 2-0. It was the first time since 2018 Penn came out victorious against a nationally ranked opponent, earning a double overtime win against then-No. 14 Wake Forest. The goals both came in the final quarter off the sticks of Meghan Ward and Courtney Kenah. Back in the goal, Frederique Wollaert earned her first collegiate victory and shutout, making four saves in 60 minutes of work.
