The Series with Rider
The Quakers and Broncs square off for the fourth time in their respective histories, with Penn holding a 2-1 series advantage. The Red and Blue won 7-2 in the last match back in September 2012.
About Rider
The No. 5 seed in last fall's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament, the Broncs made the final before falling to top-seeded Marist in penalty kicks, 5-3. Friday marks Rider's third road match in eight days as part of a season-opening five-match road trip. The Broncs have opened 2022 with a 3-0 loss to Seton Hall and a 4-0 loss to Virginia.
The Series with Temple
The Quakers are 24-7-7 all-time against the Owls, including a 6-2-2 mark in the last 10 matches dating back to 2002. In last season's meeting, the Owls took a 10th-minute lead, but a quick equalizer from
Joey Bhangdia and a 79th-minute goal by
Matt Leigh gave the Quakers a 2-1 win.
About Temple
The Owls are 1-0-1 through their first two matches. In their season opener against Lehigh, the Owls shut out the Mountain Hawks despite Lehigh's 14-8 shot and 8-0 corner kick advantage. In their 1-1 draw with Seton Hall on Monday, the Owls were once again outshot (13-5) with the Pirates holding a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
