Women's Squash Announces 2022-23 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's Director of Squash and head women's squash coach Jack Wyant has announced his team's 2022-23 schedule.

Penn finished the 2021-22 season No. 6 in the College Squash Association (CSA) rankings, its 41st straight season in the top eight. The Quakers picked up a pair of non-conference wins over Top 12 teams Stanford and Williams, in addition to sweeping Top 20 teams Dickinson, Franklin and Marshall, and Bates.

"I'm very excited about the 2022-23 schedule," said Wyant. "As in years' past, we make every effort to play as many top teams near us in the CSA rankings, and I believe we've accomplished that goal once again. Last year was a home-heavy schedule; this year, we will be hitting the road, which I believe will provide further opportunity for this group to bond. As in past years, we hope we'll get support from our alumni and friends of the program around the country."

Following the Ivy Scrimmages at Yale on November 5 and 6, Penn opens its season at Franklin and Marshall for the Pennsylvania State Championships on November 12 and 13. The Quakers will be joined at the event by Drexel, Dickinson, and Chatham. Following matches on the campus of the University of Virginia November 18 and 19 against the Cavaliers and Stanford, the Quakers wrap the Fall portion of the season with their home opener against Tufts on November 20.

Penn rings in the new year by kicking off Ivy League play against Cornell in Ithaca on January 13, followed by a January 15 home date with Columbia. It was then-No. 9 Penn's 6-3 win over then-No. 8 Cornell in the regular season finale last February that put Penn in the Howe Cup. Penn also avenged a regular season loss to Columbia in the Howe Cup to clinch a final Top 6 national ranking.

Conference play continues with a weekend trip through New England to Dartmouth on January 21 and Harvard on January 22. Penn returns to the Squash Center to close out the month with matches against Yale (Jan. 28) and Trinity (Jan. 29). The regular season concludes with a Penn-Princeton showdown at the Squash Center on February 4.

The Quakers will host the CSA Women's Team Championships at the Penn Squash Center from February 17-19. The CSA Individual Championships will take place March 3-5 at the Arlen Specter Squash Center, right on 33rd Street just up the road from the Penn Squash Center.
