Women's Squash Begins 2026 Howe Cup Campaign Friday

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team will look to win its first Howe Cup championship since the 1999-2000 season, this weekend at the CSA National Team Championships.
 
The No. 2 seeded Quakers have been granted a first round bye on Thursday and will take on the winner of No. 7 Cornell and No. 10 Amherst.
 
The match will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 6th at the Arlen Specter Squash Center in Philadelphia.

Quaker Notemeal
The Quakers enter the tournament after an Ivy League Tournament finals appearance. Sohaila Ismail, Allie Stoddard and Hailey Wong were named to the All-Tournament team. Penn holds a 14-2 record and are currently ranked as the No. 2 team in the CSA team rankings.
 
Previewing the Big Red
The Big Red enter the weekend after a semifinals loss to No. 1 Princeton in the Ivy League Tournament. The Quakers swept the Big Red, 9-0, in the last matchup on January 31st in Ithaca. Some of Cornell's most impressive wins this season include a 9-0 sweep over No. 10 Tufts, a 5-4 win over No. 9 Drexel and a 6-3 victory over No. 8 Yale.
 
Previewing the Mammoths
The Mammoths were swept by Drexel in their last match on February 21st and fell to Tufts, 5-4, on February 15th. Before that, the Mammoths began the season with a 15-1 record as they were ranked as the No. 2 seed in the NESAC Women's Squash Championships, the highest in program history. The last time the Quakers and Mammoths squared off was during the 2009-10 season, where Penn won, 9-0.
