PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania track and field program kicked off the outdoor campaign on Saturday, hosting the Penn Challenge and collecting 12 top finishes.

Within those 12 first-place marks, the record book was hit five times including twice by
Skyla Wilson.

Wilson collected a top finish in the 100m, crossing at 11.88 to move to sixth in program history. In the race,
Caia Gelli came through not far behind for third with a time of 12:05. The two raced together again in the 400m, as Gelli took first with a time of 23.95 for fourth in history and Wilson followed in second at 24.40 for 10th in history.

Abby Norwillo had the fourth record book mark for the women, clearing 3.80m in the pole vault for second place in the event while moving to eighth in program history.

On the men's side,
James Rhoads earned a top finish in the pole vault as well, setting the third-best mark in program history with a clearance of 5.30m.

The Quakers had a lot of great performances for the day. Beyond the record book movements, the women five other top finishes.

In the 400, the Quakers took the top five spots on the women's side led by
Jocelyn Niemiec with a first-place time of 55.91. On the men's side,
Emerson Douds clocked a time of 48.16 for first, while
Antaures Jackson came through in second with a time of 49.15.

In the 3000,
Maeve Stiles and
Maggie Maier took first and second, respectively, as Stiles cooked the field with a time of 9:38.31.
Ray Sellaro led 10 Quakers in for the top 10 spots, as his time of 8:21.22 led a group of four in the 8:21 range:
Michael Keehan (8:21.29),
Zubeir Dagane (8:21.33), and
James Lee (8:21.95).

Also on the track,
Weston Wendt scored a top finish in the 200m with a time of 21.66. On the women's side, the Quaker went 1-2-3 in the 2000 steeplechase led by a top finish by
Lizzy Bader, clocking a time of 7:02.74.

On the infield, a pair of second place finishes in jumps were highlighted by
Claire Moreau in the high jump and
Michael Hermes in the long jump. Moreau earned second with a height of 1.72m on her first attempt, while Hermes took second with a jump of 6.36m.

Out at throws,
Mayyi Mahama and
Marc Minichello scored first place distances in their respective events. Mahama tossed 61.03m on her fifth attempt in the hammer, while Minichello sent a javelin 75.58m. Mahama currently owns the hammer record, while Minichello sits second in the javelin.

During the relays portion, the women earned a first-place finish in the 4x400, clocking a time of 3:44.26.

The Quakers are back in action next week, traveling to North Carolina for the four-day Raleigh Relays. Day one is set to begin on Thursday.
