No Place Like Home Initiative
Saturday's season opener is marked as the Quakers' "No Place Like Home Initiative" game. This season, Penn and the other five Philly Six schools are actively participating in Game Hair Havoc, a fundraising campaign powered by the HEADstrong Foundation in which college teams use game day hairstyles as a mechanism for raising awareness and funds to support the cause. From battle braids to power buns, each of the players of the Philly Six will show their spirit and support for those who have lost their hair due to the side effects of their cancer treatment. While each of these teams will be competing against each other on the field this season, this is a special way for them to unite for the greater good. The proceeds raised will be used to fund nights of lodging and comfort for guest families at Nick's House.

Penn-Delaware Series
The Quakers are meeting the Blue Hens for the 14th time in program history with Penn holding an 11-2 lead in the all-time series that dates to 1984. Entering Saturday, Penn is riding a seven-game win streak and have won 9 out of the last 10 matchups, including an untouched record at Franklin Field.

Last Time We Met
The last time they played each other was in 2019 in Newark, with the Quakers taking a 15-4 decision. Three players recorded five points, including four goals and an assist by Erin Barry. Zoe Belodeau finished with three goals and two assists, while Gabby Rosenzweig had a game-high three assists and two goals. With the victory, Head coach Karin Corbett improved to 17-3 in season openers, a tally that has since moved to 19-3 with victories in the past two seasons.

About Delaware
The Blue Hens fell in their season opener last Saturday to No. 17/16 Rutgers in Newark, 16-8. A quick start for the Knights had Delaware trailing 5-2 at the end of the first quarter, then held scoreless in the second. The Blue Hens were led by Riley Gillin with a four-point effort on two goals and two assists. Delaware split time between two keepers, as the two combined for 10 saves including seven by Mercy McCarthy.

Road To Success
The road is a loaded one this season, playing seven nationally-ranked opponents, according to the recent IWLCA coaches' poll released earlier this week. The Quakers have a non-conference schedule that includes: No. 5 Northwestern, No. 6 Duke, No. 8 Maryland, No. 9 Loyola, No. 19 Drexel, and No. 21 Johns Hopkins. The seventh will happen in Ivy League play at No. 16 Princeton, a game that is set for Wednesday, April 20 on ESPNU.

Tewaaraton Watch List
Last week, the 2022 Tewaaraton Award Watch List was announced, naming senior Taylyn Stadler as an early contender for the prestigious honor. Stadler has started every game of her career, 24 total. She was the only freshman to start every game back in 2019, finishing fourth on the team in points (32) and goals (26). Although 2020 only had five games, she totaled 10 points with hat tricks against Johns Hopkins, Rutgers, and No. 4 Loyola. A one-game 2021 season against La Salle had her proving nothing has changed, recording three points off two goals and an assist. The award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
