T&F Wraps Up Darius Dixon Memorial With Six Top Victories In Day Two

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The University of Pennsylvania track and field programs wrapped up the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Saturday, earning six victories and adding four more names to the record book.
 
On the men's side, the Quakers scored wins in the 300m, 500m, and 1,000m. In the 300m, Emerson Douds cruised to a 34.36 to take first. In the 500m, Penn took the first four spots, led by Nick Faries with a time of 1:04.79. He was followed in by Titus Bretzke (1:04.89), Kyle Miller (1:05.11), and Antaures Jackson (1:07.68).
 
The men added their final top finish in the 1,000m, as Edwin Klanke posted a personal best time of 2:24.54 for the victory, while moving into a tie for sixth in program history with teammate James Lee. Anton Idhammar also earned a spot in the record, taking third in the event at 2:25.21 for ninth in program history.
 
Three more wins came on the women's side, on the track and on the infield. In the 500m, Skyla Wilson continued her dominant season with a top finish of 1:14.81. She was followed closely in by Aliya Garozzo for second at 1:15.68.
 
Also on the track, the distance medley relay team of Bronwyn Patterson, Katherine Muccio, Caroline O'Sullivan, and Maeve Stiles torched the field with a time of 11:45.93 for the victory.
 
On the infield, Tamara Grahovic put together a distance of 11.90m in the triple jump on her final attempt to set a new personal best that holds her at 10th in program history.
 
The record book was hit in the 200m and the 1,000m. Wilson put her name in the record book for another event, clocking a time of 24.06 in the 200m to move to second in program history. Caia Gelli earned fourth in the event with a time of 24.27, setting a new career time that keeps her at sixth in program history.
 
In the 1,000m, Olivia Babski crossed the line in third with a time of 2:51.29, putting her into the record book at 10th.
 
The Quakers take the next two weeks to prepare for the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championship, set for the weekend of February 26-27 at The Armory in New York City.
