Lassiter Named an Underrated Freshman To Watch by College Gym News

PHILADELPHIA – The 2023 season is right around the corner and one University of Pennsylvania gymnastics newcomer is already garnering recognition as freshman Marissa Lassiter was named one of 10 underrated freshmen to watch by College Gym News.

Lassiter, a native of Waldorf, Maryland, comes to Penn after qualifying for JO Nationals in 2022.

According to the publication, Lassiter's "dynamic Yurchenko one and a half would be a welcome addition to just about any vault lineup in the country, but she's also a legitimate all-around threat poised to help the Quakers build on last season's momentum."

Penn begins its 2023 campaign on January 6 at the Keystone Classic, which will be hosted by Pitt. The Quakers will compete against the Panthers, Temple and Penn State to open the year.
