PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League announced its cross country postseason awards on Tuesday, as the University of Pennsylvania cross country programs saw representation by four student-athletes.
Â
The Quakers had three All-Ivy performers this season, led by junior
Maeve Stiles with a third-place finish at Ivy Heps to earn a first-team accolade. It's the first of her career, clocking a time of 20:58.5 on the Van Cortlandt Park 6K course, a time that is the second fastest in program history at Heps, only behind Ashley Montgomery's 2016 time of 20:31.7.
Â
She was joined on All-Ivy by teammates
Lizzy Bader and
Lily Murphy, both of which earned second team. Bader, a senior captain, took 10th in the race with a time of 21:21.8. It's a career-best time and the seventh best mark at Ivy Heps for a Quaker all time.
Â
Murphy, in her first conference championship, took 13th with a time of 21:33.4, as she continued to be a scorer for the Quakers in every race she competed in this season.
Â
The women's team scoring three All-Ivy runners has only been done one other time in program history, in 2019 when the Quakers had Maddie Villalba make first and Ariana Gardizy and Nia Akins on second.
Â
The Ivy League also announced their All-Academic awards, as Stiles and
Michael Keehan represented Penn. It is the first academic honor for both student-athletes.
Â
The Quakers have the weekend off to continue preparations for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, on Friday, November 11. The race will take place at Penn State, a course Penn competed on in the season opener at the Spiked Shoe Invitational.
