Temple Open Results
PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team opened the 2022-23 season Saturday at the Temple Open from the Liacouras Center, earning a pair of runner-up finishes and placing seven fencers in all in respective Top 16's.

Sabrina Cho qualified 15th but won three razor-close bouts in the Round of 16, quarterfinal round, and semifinal round, knocking off the #6 and #3 qualifiers along the way. She dropped the final to Zander Rhodes of Columbia, the discipline's top qualifier

Sarah Hilado qualified 13th, but knocked off the #4 qualifier Megan Liang of Columbia in the Round of 16, and the #12 qualifier Katarina Hone of Boston College to advance to the semifinal, where a medical withdraw put her in the final before dropping the final bout to the #2 qualifier Chloe Gouhin of Columbia.
