COLUMBUS, Ohio – The nationally ranked University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team concluded its season and the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championships on Friday afternoon at the French Fieldhouse, with two fencers earning All-America honors.
The #7 Penn women ended the championships in 12th place with 35 points earned from
Sabrina Cho's,
Grace Hu's, and
Katina Proestakis Ortiz's performances in the Buckeye State. Cho and Hu were both named All-America Honorable Mentions from their top 12 placements.
Senior Cho ended her collegiate career, placing 11th in the foil portion of the championships to garner her second-straight All-America honor. Cho won 12 total bouts between both days of the tournament.
Junior Proestakis Ortiz closely followed her teammate in the standings, landing 14th place from 11 wins to end the postseason.
Freshman Hu jumped into the top ten of epee to conclude her first-year campaign as an All-American. Hu picked up five wins on the second day to end her first postseason appearance with 12 wins.
