SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Five members of the University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team completed the first day of the 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships hosted at Notre Dame on Thursday night.

Victoria Kuznetsov,
Kimberley Jang, and
Lila Paul all landed in the top 20 of their weapons to help Penn sit in fifth place as a team with 32 points at the championships after the first day.
Freshman Jang led the charge for the Quakers, ending the first day in the Hoosier State sitting tenth in the foil field off a 9-6 record. Epeeist Kuznetsov (7-8) and saberist Paul (6-9) landed in 14th to round out the Red and Blue in the top 15. Junior Blum picked up 18th place among the saber field from five victories, while junior Hu grabbed 19th off five wins to round out Penn's results on the day.
