PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team wrapped up the first day of the 2025 Ivy League Championships on Saturday night in The Palestra.
Fourth-seeded Penn ended the first day of the championships in fourth place, picking up a win over #5 Yale (19-8) and falling to #2 Columbia (23-4) and #1 Princeton (19-8).
The Red and Blue had six Quakers land in the top ten of their weapons, with
Vivian Lu leading the charge with seventh place in saber, going 4-5 on the day.
Katherine Andres (3-4),
Talia Becker Calazans (3-4), and
Victoria Kuznetsov (4-5) ended the day in eighth place, while
Grace Hu and
Polina Kharchyna finished in tenth place in epee to complete the outing.
