Field Hockey Breaks Into NFHCA Top 25

PHILADELPHIA – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its newest Division I top 25 on Tuesday, as the University of Pennsylvania made its first appearance of the season at No. 24.

The Quakers currently ride the strongest schedule in the country, playing seven nationally ranked opponents through their first 12 games. Of those seven games, four were against top 10 teams including No. 1 Northwestern and No. 2 UNC. Penn also ranks No. 23 in RPI.

Currently riding a three-game winning streak and earning victories in four of their last five games, the Quakers are coming off a 3-2 comeback victory this past Saturday at home against Brown. Trailing 2-0 in the first quarter, Penn put away three unanswered goals with two coming from junior Allison Kuzyk. She was tabbed Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for the first time in her collegiate career.

Penn hits the road this weekend for a pair of games in Connecticut, taking on Yale on Saturday before clashing with Quinnipiac for a Sunday matinee.
