Six Quakers Crack Top 10 Marks For T&F At Penn 10-Team Select

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania track and field programs hosted the Penn 10-Team Select at the Ocean Breeze Complex in New York on Saturday, as six different Quakers made their way into the top 10 in program history in their respective events.

The most impressive jumps in the history books came on the women's side during the mile and the 60-meter hurdles. In the mile, Bronwyn Patterson put together the third best time in program history with a time of 4:45.82, while Maeve Stiles crossed at 4:48.37 for seventh in the record book. The duo finished third and fifth, respectively, in the race. The 60-meter hurdles saw Skyla Wilson score a fourth-place finish with a time of 8.60. However, her preliminary time of 8.52 was a career mark, good enough for fifth in program history.

The men had three Quakers crack the record book. In the 60 meters, Emerson Douds laid down the best preliminary time, clocking a 6.95. The mark was fast enough to land him ninth in program history. In the mile, Penn took the second through fourth spots in the race. James Lee paced the pack in second with a time of 4:05.77 for ninth in history, while Michael Keehan followed closely behind with a time of 4:06.63 for third place and 10th in the record book. Justin Cornetta came in at third with a time of 4:07.25, just shy of the record book.

The Quakers also had a pair of top finishes for the evening. Cam Landis in the men's shot put cleared 16.78 meters on his third attempt to win the event. In the women's 4x400, Caia Gelli, Jocelyn Niemiec, Wilson, and Kayla Lee combined for a strong 3:47.67 performance to take first.

Top three finishes were scattered among several events. Enoch Cheung earned third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.20, while Mark Anselmi cleared 2.00 meters in the high jump for second place. Gelli clocked a time of 56.41 in the women's 400 to take second, and Abby Norwillo grabbed third in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.80 meters.

The Quakers return to the Ocean Breeze Complex for the third time this season next Saturday, competing in the Villanova Invitational.
