Lightweight Varsity Eights
Penn entered the day with the second-ranked boat and that's exactly where the Quakers finished. Navy, the top-ranked boat all spring, jumped out to a fast start and never let up, clocking 6:44.899 to win the national title. Penn pushed the Midshipmen through the middle part of the race but could never get level, finishing in 6:47.476.
