GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The University of Pennsylvania lightweight team wrapped up competition at the IRA National Championships Regatta, with the 2V8 crew claiming silver in their race.
The 2V8 crew clocked a 5:55.245 in their grand final, coming about a second and a half off of the first place position. The 1V8 crew placed fifth in their grand final race with a time of 5:52.100.
The conclusion of the IRA's marks the end of the 2026 season for lightweight rowing, with the success at the National Regatta highlighting what was a fantastic year for the program. The lightweight crew came in tied for third among 10 lightweight teams at the IRA's with 40.5 points.
