PRINCETON, N.J. - The University of Pennsylvania men's lightweight program had a busy day at the Princeton Chase Sunday, putting up good results across the board on Lake Carnegie. The three-mile, time-trial event was the final fall racing for the Quakers.
Lightweight Eights
Penn's "A" boat took fourth overall among 21 boats in this time trial, the Quakers clocking 12:56.953 which had them behind Navy (12:43.877), Cornell (12:49.773) and Princeton (12:53.156). The Red and Blue's "B" boat was best among the B boats in the field and sixth overall, in 13:06.987, while their "C" boat was third among the C boats and 13th overall with a time of 13:28.735.
Men's Eights Round 2
The lightweights put a pair of boats in this mixed heavyweight/lightweight field of 13 boats, with the first of those boats finishing sixth (in 13:26.866) and the other placing 11th (in 14:32.346).
Men's Fours
The lightweights also had two boats in this field that mixed together heavyweights and lightweights. The Quakers' "A" lightweight was 12th in the field of 30 with a time of 14:50.621, while the "B" lightweight was 24th in 15:45.714.
