WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of Pennsylvania men's lightweight rowing crews wrapped up competition at the EARC Sprints Sunday evening, putting together a great showing that included all four crews in their respective grand finals, two silver medals, and one gold medal.
The Third and Fourth Varsity crews got things going for Penn with two second-place finishes, with the third crew clocking a 6:13.6 and the fourth crew clocking a 6:22.9.
The highlight of the day came from the Second Varsity crew, who delivered a first-place finish in the grand final with a 5:55.0. This is just the third win in program history at the event for the 2V8's and the second time in three years (2024).
The Varsity crew also earned a spot in their grand final, placing fourth with a 5:51.885, coming just .05 seconds shy of a podium spot.
The Quakers finished third overall in team points and third in combined team points (lightweight and heavyweight).
