How It Happened
Sophomore goalkeeper
Laurence Gladu had her first save of the match in the fifth minute off the boot of Princeton's Lily Bryant. Just two minutes later,
Emily Pringle made a move past the Tigers defense and put a shot on target, but it was corralled by the Princeton keeper. Overall, the two teams would be fairly evenly matched through the first 45 minutes as a combined 11 shots were fired off. Gladu made three saves to two by the Tigers keeper.
The visitors finally broke the deadlock in the 65th minute. Madison Curry sent a long ball to lead an open Hart. She played the ball one time and then pushed a shot inside the left post and past a diving Gladu for what would to be the only score of the match.
The Quakers committed a foul in the box in the 69th minute to give the Tigers a penalty kick. Princeton tabbed Kamryn Loustau to take the shot. However, her shot to the right of the goal hit the post and deflected out of bounds, keeping the match 1-0 and giving Penn hope for the final 20 minutes. The Quakers responded, turning up the pressure and firing four shots in a three-minute span but only putting one of them on target.
