PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania baseball program has its sights set on the 2022 season, which features a 10-day trip to South Carolina and a home opener against Monmouth before starting Ivy play with a visit to Columbia as part of a 43-game schedule released Wednesday afternoon. 

"I'm excited how our 2022 schedule worked out," said W. Joseph Blood Head Coach of Baseball John Yurkow. "We have a great test right out of the gate with a series vs and SEC team in Texas A&M. Our spring trip in South Carolina will give us a great opportunity to play some quality teams in excellent facilities. Our early games should prepare us for when we return back to campus and compete with some successful local programs."

The Quakers start their season with a three-game road series at Texas A&M (Feb. 25-27). Three-game sets against Wofford (March 4-6) and Winthrop (March 11-13) bookend a two-game series with The College of Charleston (March 8-9) that comprise the last of Penn's 11 straight road games to begin the season.
 
Penn's home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16 against Monmouth, kicking off a four game homestand that includes a three-game series with Wagner (March 19-20) and one with Lehigh (March 23).  
 
The Ivy League is continuing a scheduling format started in 2018 where each of the Ancient Eight play a three-game series against one another. The series consists of two nine-inning games on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday. This season, Penn will play three of its seven Ivy League series at Meiklejohn this season.
The two teams atop the conference standings at season's end will square off in a best-of-three Ivy League Championship Series, to be hosted May 21 and 22 by the team with the best record. The winner of the ILCS will earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Championship.
 
The Quakers begin their Ivy League slate at Columbia (March 26-27) and at home against Dartmouth (April 2-3), with a Liberty Bell Classic game against Lafayette between the two series (Wednesday, March 30). Depending on the outcome, the Quakers next face either Villanova or Delaware State in Liberty Bell Classic play on Tuesday, April 5.

Penn will make its second Ivy road trip of the season to Harvard (April 9-10) before a midweek clash at Rutgers (April 13). Penn then plays seven of its next eight at home, starting with an Ivy League series against Cornell (April 16-17). The Quakers next welcome Brown (April 23-24) and Rider (April 27) to Meiklejohn Stadium for the final home games of the regular season.

A rare Friday-Saturday Ivy League series at Yale (April 29-30) marks the start of seven straight road games to end the season, with games at Delaware (May 11) and Princeton (May 14-15) concluding regular-season play.
