ITHACA, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team (12-2, 6-1) wrapped up the regular season in style, rolling over #13 Cornell (5-9, 1-4) 9-0. The win is the fourth consecutive 9-9 shutout, the longest streak by the Quakers since the 2006-07 season.
Several players turned in extremely impressive results along the way. Freshman
Saksham Choudhary wrapped up a perfect 14-0 regular season, defeating his opponent 3-0. Captain's
Andrew Douglas and
David Yacobucci stood tall from the beginning, recording key early victories.
In the eighth spot for the first time this year was
Ryan Murray, who stepped up to win a critical 3-1 victory. The win was one of the closest matches of the day, as the Big Red managed just three game wins and nothing past 3-1.
With at least two wins in the upcoming postseason, the Quakers can match their win total from a season ago, when the team went 14-4 overall. The Red and Blue will look improve on the 3rd place finish from last season, the best in program history.
